2019 - La Pettegola
Aromatics and acidity for lively and stylish Vermentino!
The growing season of the 2019 vintage was marked by a particularly cold spring, which delayed the ripening process. Thanks to a rainy early summer and a sunny and windy August-September, the harvest resulted very good quality.
Straw yellow wine, with intense hints of apricot and grapefruit, accompained by notes of sage; in the mouth acidity and sapidity are perfectly in balance and give this wine a long and persistent finish on the palate.
Excellent in combination with fish-based dishes, such as seafood salad and tuna tartare, or with vegetarian dishes such as cauliflower pie or roasted tomatoes.
Fermentation: in temperature-controlled (13-15°C) stainlesssteel tanks.
Aging: in stainless-steel tanks for around 3 months
Alcohol: 13%
Suggested serving temperature : 10-12°C
The Banfi estate extends to the south of Montalcino, to the borders of the Val d’Orcia. Of the 7,100 acres of land, about one third is under vine in a constellation of single vineyards, the remainder occupied by olive groves, fruit trees (mainly plums), woods and scrub.
As a project dedicated to highlight the prized denominations of lower Piedmont, Banfi Piedmont represents the perfect union between the centuries-old sparkling wine tradition and a winemaking maturity experienced in the cellars. The property extends between the towns of Novi Ligure and Acqui Terme, over an area of 124 acres, of which 114 are under vine.
Its dedication to Tuscany has recently brought Banfi to new territories, among the most evocative of the region: Bolgheri, where a small estate based on the legend of the Etruscans produces a Bolgheri DOC; the Maremma, a territory dedicated to the production of Vermentino; and Chianti, most prized for the birth of Chianti Classico.
